'teeth is about being in so overly infatuated with someone, especially their smile, so obsessed with everything they do and admiring every action they take; good or bad. defending everything they do to you because you see everything they do as love, you want to know them inside and out, even to the gory lengths of wanting to know ' how their tongue feels against your teeth ' , you would sacrifice your own dignity

just to have them know you love them

'when you try to open up about issues and problems you get silenced, forced to bite your own tongue for their love or they will fight you until they leave. by the end of your song you realise the whole time they were biting your tongue, when you just wanted to know them better, they punished you for not wanting to open up, and the very thing you fell in love with, you learn to resent as it destroyed you, 'i loathe your smile' , this song shows the love story i know others have also

experienced

'i wanted teeth to be relatable, and to be able to be interpreted anyway you feel, just because i meant the song this way, doesn't mean i want it to always be taken that way. i love seeing how others find themselves relating in another format, it brings me new ideas for the future too, and how to appeal to my audience whilst also staying true to myself, which is the ultimate goal at the end of this all'
